The Szeged Committee of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations organized a prevention day on 1 December 2014 on the occassion of International AIDS Day.

Quacquarelli Symonds announced the 2014/2015 rankings on 16 September, 2014 in Prague. The list ranks the 800 best universities of the world.

Within the festive meeting of the Council of the University of Szeged on 20 September 2014 received the students of the Faculty of Medicine their diploma.

Zoltán Balog Minister rewarded the Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunbiology Department of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Szeged at the opening ceremony of the academic year at Budapest Business School.

The renovation of the Faculty Sports Centre is completed, the students can use the courts again.

The academic year 2014-2015 was opened 31 August 2014 with the festive council. Prof. Ferenc Bari, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine welcomed the new students of the Faculty.

For his outstanding professional work Prof Dr. György Benedek – University of Szeged, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physiology – was honoured with Order of Merit of Hungary, Officer’s Cross by Zoltán Balog Minister of Human Resources on behalf of János Áder, President of Hungary.

Professor György Lázár M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc.

Following a thorough self-evaluation process covering several areas and an on-site visit by the Accreditation Committee, the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School at the University of Szeged has been granted accreditation by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) for eight years, until 15 December 2031.
