Medical treatment of students

Medical treatment of the students of the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School

The Students' Service Office (HSZI) handles all Generali Studium health insurance matters. Please contact them.  Make sure that you verify each semester that your Generali Studium health insurance is valid. To verify it, log into Modulo > click on "Evaluated" > look for "Request for Generali Studium health insurance". If its "state" is Valid or Invoiced, then it is valid. If it is Deleted or you cannot find it, then visit the Students' Service Office (HSZI) in person.


The Generali Studium health insurance is included in those students' tuition fees who began their studies in or after the academic year 2015/2016. Upper year students whose tuition fees does not include this health insurance can purchase it via modulo (Submission > Students' Service Office (HSZI) > Reuqest for Generali Studium Health Insurance).

Primary care


1. For students holding the General Studium health insurance (or international health insurance)


If you are ill, you are to first register to see your GP (Dr. Krisztina Pál) through modulo (Submission > Students' Service Office (HSZI) > Generali Studium book an appointment to the family doctor). The GP will not see you unless you book an appointment in advance. Tel.: +36 70 439-9280; e-mail: modellbt@gmail.com.

You can now book appointments in Modulo without time restrictions. This means appointments can now be scheduled more than 14 days in advance. Please remember that you must attend at the booked time.
You also have the option to cancel your appointment if needed. We kindly ask you to use this feature responsibly so that available slots can be offered to other students in need of medical care. Please note that the GP keeps track of students who book appointments but fail to attend. Repeated no-shows may result in a formal warning.

2. For students holding a European Health Insurance Card

If you are ill, you have to call your GP (Dr. Krsztina Pál) on the phone for an appointment (+36 70 439-9280) on weekdays between 8 AM and 4 PM.

Secondary care

Secondary care of all students (regardless of the type of insurance) is provided at the clinics of the Albert Szent-Györgyi Clinical Center. In each case students need to contact the institutions' own reception desk first (betegfelvétel).

Breakthrough in Nuclear Medicine: World’s First MINItrace Magni Cyclotron at SZTE

Following a cornerstone-laying ceremony for SZTE’S Regional Cyclotron and Radiopharmaceutical Supply Center in April, another major milestone has been reached in one of the University of Szeged’s flagship strategic investments. On December 9, GE HealthCare announced that – for the first time worldwide – the MINItrace Magni cyclotron will be installed at the University of Szeged, marking a major advance for nuclear medicine and theranostic treatment in Hungary. At a special event held at the University’s main building, the significance and future impact of the pioneering device were outlined by Prof. Dr. László Rovó, Rector of the University of Szeged; Dr. Judit Fendler, Chancellor; Prof. Dr. László Pávics, Professor at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and project leader; Dr. György Erőss, Regional Customer Relations Manager for Central and Eastern Europe at GE HealthCare Hungary Kft.; and Jan Wolber, Global Product Leader for GE HealthCare Digital.
