40th Anniversary Alumni Reunion – Just a Few Days Away!

More than 100 graduates from across the globe have registered, and together with their partners and family members, we are delighted to welcome around 150 guests to this milestone celebration.


The weekend will open on Friday, 3 October, with a scientific program featuring CME lectures by distinguished alumni in the fields of emergency medicine, psychiatry, pain management, and Parkinson’s disease. Saturday’s highlights include a Brunch with Professors, a campus tour, and the Students Meet Alumni Forum, where current students will have the chance to ask alumni directly about working in different countries and specialties. Meanwhile, family members can enjoy specially designed programs such as a natural cosmetics workshop and a Hungarian specialties cooking class.


The centerpiece of the weekend will be the Gala Dinner on Saturday evening at the József Attila Study and Information Centre (TIK), featuring welcome speeches, an award ceremony, and a festive evening of dining, music, and celebration.


Finally, on Sunday, 5 October, guests will have the option to join social programs, including a boat trip on the Tisza River and a sightseeing tour of Szeged’s city centre.


We look forward to welcoming our alumni community, their families, and friends back to Szeged to celebrate this very special anniversary together.

Breakthrough in Nuclear Medicine: World’s First MINItrace Magni Cyclotron at SZTE

Following a cornerstone-laying ceremony for SZTE’S Regional Cyclotron and Radiopharmaceutical Supply Center in April, another major milestone has been reached in one of the University of Szeged’s flagship strategic investments. On December 9, GE HealthCare announced that – for the first time worldwide – the MINItrace Magni cyclotron will be installed at the University of Szeged, marking a major advance for nuclear medicine and theranostic treatment in Hungary. At a special event held at the University’s main building, the significance and future impact of the pioneering device were outlined by Prof. Dr. László Rovó, Rector of the University of Szeged; Dr. Judit Fendler, Chancellor; Prof. Dr. László Pávics, Professor at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and project leader; Dr. György Erőss, Regional Customer Relations Manager for Central and Eastern Europe at GE HealthCare Hungary Kft.; and Jan Wolber, Global Product Leader for GE HealthCare Digital.
