Orientation Week

A multi-day series of events, programs, and meetings has been organised to provide new students with an in-depth overview of how the university and the medical school work. The Orientation Week aims to provide a mix of fun and educational components to help students’ transition to becoming a university student. It is held the week prior to the start of classes and further, faculty-specific activities are available during the first week of the fall semester as well.

The medical school would like to use this week to introduce you to the expectations of the faculty while also providing you with all the information you need about the new program, curriculum, faculty, medical school campus, etc. You’ll receive everything you need to get familiar with your future course load, including detailed curriculum programs and student policy handbooks.

Some activities will take the form of fun, interactive, group-based activities and games designed to encourage you to work with one another. Conducted by current medical students, these activities give you a chance to work on your communication, community building and interactive skills.

Social events will help you to get to know each other, explore the campus and meet your seniors and faculty members. It’s important to use these social events to make friends with your classmates and to identify helpful mentors among older students or faculty members.
