Hungarian Centre of Excellence for Molecular Medicine in Szeged

The University of Szeged plays role in the foundation of the Hungarian Centre of Excellence in Molecular Medicine.

The project, which won more than 15 billion forint aid with the Teaming competition of the The Unional Horizont 2020 Frameprogram concentrates on medical biological recearches, which study diseases that involve large population, such as cancer, high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis or diabetes. The goal of this project is to create a centre of excellence in hungary, and to assist the clinical use of the results of base studies.

Dr. Endre Varga

The University of Szeged has reached a new milestone: a new precision robotic surgical device has been tested at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery at the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School, which could revolutionise the accuracy and safety of knee replacement surgery.

According to this year's national ranking of higher education institutions, the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School is the best faculty at the University of Szeged.
