Foreign Students' Secretariat

Students starting University studies may find academic life new and exciting, but also a bit bewildering.

Candidates coming straight from high school will need to get used to being part of a much bigger community, where independence is not without its challenges either - there is a lot to experience, yet a lot of work to do, too. Living away from home and family for the first time, with all the readjustment involved is also a challenge in itself. Many are likely to need advice and support in order to find their feet socially and academically. Therefore, the Foreign Students’ Secretariat would like to make sure that right from the start, students have access to a support service staffed by people who are easily accessible and can offer guidance on various issues including

  • application and admission
  • orientation
  • academic regulations
  • accommodation
  • loan
  • legal and community problems
  • residence permit / visa
  • health insurance
  • personal concerns
