Basic Treatment in Dental Medicine

Students can also perform the practice outside of the University, or outside of Hungary at a dental hospital or clinic. If you wish to complete your summer practice abroad or outside of Szeged, please <strong>submit your letter of acceptance by May 8, 2017</strong>. If you wish to carry out your summer practice at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Szeged, please send an e-mail to dent2.fs@med.u-szeged.hu by March 31, 2017.

Students having begun their studies in or after the academic year 2012/2013 do not have to pay a fee if they carry out their summer practice at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Szeged.

Students having begun their studies before the academic year 2012/2013 have to pay a 800 USD fee for the basic treatment in dental medicine practice if they are carrying out their practice at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Szeged.

It is recommended to pay using Neptun. Once your outstanding debts appear on Neptun (log into Neptun, go to ‘Finances’, then ‘Payment’), you can make your payments using your credit/debit card there, or using a credit/debit card at the Hallgatói Szolgáltató Iroda located at 6722 Szeged, Ady tér 10. (in the University library). Other payment methods are available; please check the main 'Summer practices' section.

4^th year dental students have to perform a practice of four weeks in Basic Treatment in Dental Medicine.

Requirements for accepting the summer practice:

-attendance of practices according to the Code and Academic Regulation of the Faculty of Dentistry University of Szeged.

-completing the practical tasks

Completion of tasks during the summer practice:

Comprehensive treatment of patients.

Preconditions of Basic Treatment in Dental Medicine (FOG-MA851):

-Prosthodontics III. practice

-Operative Dentistry Preliminary exam

-Periodontology II. lecture, practice

-Oral Surgery II. practice

-Pediatric Dentistry I. lecture, practice

-Emergency Medicine and Anesthesiology in Dentistry lecture, practice

The summer practice is a criteria subject! Each student must fulfill it. To be able to attend it all the preconditions have to be fulfilled.
