It is very important for you to note that if you are entering the next module in the first semester of the academic year 2017/2018 (entering the third year or entering the fourth year), you will have to have your summer practice evaluation sheet (either the odontotechnology or the oral surgery summer practice) submitted by the beginning of the Neptun course registration period, which is around the end of August, 2017 (exact dates will be available at a later date; please check the on-line schedule).

Unless you submit your evaluation sheet by then, Neptun will not let you sign up for any subjects from the next module, as part of the completion of the previous module is completing the corresponding summer practice as well.

Please plan ahead and see to that you will be able to submit your evaluation sheet in time. Remember that the secretariat only accepts the original evaluation sheets, not the photocopies or electronic images sent via e-mail. You can begin your Neptun course registration as soon as everything appears as completed on Neptun — including your summer practice.

Please check the rest of this page for additional information and specific requirements applying to the individual practices.

►If you wish to carry out any of your summer practices at the University of Szeged, Faculty of Dentistry, please send an e-mail to dent2.fs@med.u-szeged.hu by March 31, 2017 at the latest. Note that there are only a limited number of spots for students to fill, so inform us as early as you can — the sooner you do, the better chance you’ll have at being given a spot.

Those doing their practices at the University of Szeged, Faculty of Dentistry need not have the department involved fill in a letter of acceptance; they only need to have them fill in the evaluation sheet once you are done with the practice. In each case, an additional evaluation sheet — in Hungarian — has to be filled in by your supervisor upon the completion of your practice.

The secretariat will inform you as to the schedule and the place the practice will take place around May.

►If you wish to carry out your practice in Hungary, but in an institution other than the Faculty of Dentistry, there is another kind of acceptance letter you are required to submit. Please check the individual practices (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year) to download the acceptance letter.

►In case you are doing your practice abroad, a letter of acceptance issued by an accredited hospital/clinic has to be sent to the Foreign Students’ Secretariat by May 8, 2017. If you miss the deadline, you may be required to pay a late fee.

The letter of acceptance you submit must include the following information.

- Your name,
- the name of the institution,
- the legible address of the institution,
- the accreditation (number) of the institution (meaning that it is recognized and approved by the country it’s located in),
- the exact period of the practice,
- the full and legible name of your supervisor.

In case the hospital requires you to prove that you are obliged to perform the practice, the Secretariat will issue you a certificate.

You must also prove the completion of your tasks required for the practice by submitting the evaluation sheet (by the end of the registration period of the following fall semester). This form must be filled in by the hospital/clinic.

Please note that in order for your practice to be accepted, you must complete all the obligatory tasks present on the form.
Where applicable, the completion of each obligatory task must be verified individually by the official stamp/seal/hologram/sticker of the institution and the signature of the supervisor — that is, a single seal and signature will not do.
Make sure, therefore, in advance that you will be able to perform every task on the form in your institution chosen.

Your chief supervisor must provide the contact details of the institution as well as a written evaluation of your performance. Please make sure that your supervisors fill in every required field legibly, since incomplete forms will not be accepted.
Scanned copies and photocopies of the evaluation sheets are not accepted; the originals must be sent to the Foreign Students’ Secretariat by the hospital by mail; of course you can also hand it in in person.

It is crucial to note that the practice must last at least as long as specified on the form — 2 or 4 weeks, depending on the practice.

It is your responsibility and also in your best interest (maybe your future employer will take a look at your practice papers, or any other kind of inspection may occur) to check on the spot that everything on your form has been filled in properly (or let them know in advance that it is important that they do so), because you don’t want to notice that something is missing when you’re already in Szeged. That is, don’t just pick up your form and assume that they have filled in everything properly.

Note that summer practices are criteria subjects, so their completion is just as obligatory as any other compulsory subject's is, which also means that you are required to sign up for them on Neptun in the semester they are announced.
