Following a thorough self-evaluation process covering several areas and an on-site visit by the Accreditation Committee, the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School at the University of Szeged has been granted accreditation by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) for eight years, until 15 December 2031.

The first two years of the General Medicine programme serve as the foundation of basic medical knowledge. After the third year training is extended with regular clinical practice, in which students actively participate in the work of clinical departments and teaching hospitals. Furthermore, the Faculty’s excellent scientific laboratories offer a wide range of opportunities to students who would like to pursue scientific research of the highest standard. During the last two semesters, students rotate through different medical specialties and treat patients under the supervision of physicians. At the end of this apprenticeship they are ready to start their careers as physicians.

The Call for Application for the Exchange Program with Keck School of Medicine, USC has been announced for present 5th year medical strudents.The traineeship opportunity is for final year internships between February 2021 – March 2021.

Annual prize awarded for outstandingly innovative solutions, papers and projects in response to the most pressing issues of our planet, in the field of environmental protection, sustainable development, design, medicine, health preservation and development and education.

A demonstrator is a student who is — in agreement with the head of the department concerned — appointed by the Dean partaking in the teaching activities performed at the theoretical departments and the clinics of the Faculty of Medicine.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the English Language Medical Program of the University of Szeged, a major event was organized between September 18 and 20, 2015.

Accreditation of the medical training is completed
