Doktori Iskolánk 2025-ben alakult, két nagy múltra visszatekintő PhD képző hely, az Elméleti és az Interdiszciplináris Orvostudományok Doktori Iskolák egyesülése eredményeként. Az egyesülés révén létrejött Doktori Iskola nevében is híven tükrözi, hogy milyen tudományterületeken folyik az oktatás és hogy milyen témák kerülnek meghirdetésre: elsősorban azokat a hallgatókat képezzük, akik a kísérletes orvostudományok, valamint egyes specializált klinikai területen, úgy mint gasztroenterológia.
Doktori Iskolánk témavezetői a Szegedi Tudományegyetem, valamint a vele stratégiai oktatási együttműködésben dolgozó HUN-REN Szegedi Biológiai Kutatóközpont és HCEMM szenior munkatársai: az iskolánkhoz csatlakozó PhD hallgatók az általuk folytatott magas szintű munkába bekapcsolódva végezhetik saját kutatómunkájukat, szerezhetik meg a disszertációjuk összeállításához szükséges eredményeket. A Doktori Iskola képzési portfóliója elsősorban nagy oktatói és kutatói tapasztalattal rendelkező törzstagjaink által került kidolgozásra, az alprogramonként specializált tananyagok meghallgatásával és feldolgozásával a hallgatók a saját szűkebb tudományterületük műveléséhez szükséges alapismereteket sajátíthatják el.
Doktori Iskolánk büszke arra, hogy a keretében folyó oktató és kutatómunka az orvosbiológiai kutatások immár 100 éves hagyományaira épül a Szegedi Tudományegyetemen, melynek magas színvonalát két Nobel-díjas tudósunk, Szent-Györgyi Albert és Karikó Katalin, valamint számos, ugyancsak világszínvonalú eredményekkel büszkélkedő tudósok - mint Banga Ilona és Jancsó Miklós - fémjelzik. A jövő kutató nemzedékének oktatásában, valamint kutatómunkájuk vezetésében e nagyhírű elődök példáját követik Doktori Iskolánk oktatói, témavezetői: tudásunk és tapasztalatunk átadásával az orvosbiológia, a népegészségtan és az egészségtudományok területén kiművelt szakemberek képzésével járulunk hozzá a Szegedi Tudományegyetem, valamint hazánk tudományos teljesítményének növeléséhez.

Dear Present and Future PhD Students,
Dear Colleagues,
on behalf of myself and the community of the Doctoral School of Experimental and Preventive Medicine, I would like to warmly welcome the interested readers!
Our doctoral school was established in 2025 as a result of the merger of two PhD programs with a long history: the Doctoral School of Theoretical Medical Sciences and the Doctoral School of Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences. The name of the Doctoral School created by the merger reflects the fields of science in which education takes place and the topics that are advertised: we primarily train students who plan to pursue their doctoral studies and research work in experimental medicine and certain specialized clinical fields, such as gastroenterology, as well as young colleagues who wish to acquire new knowledge in the increasingly important fields of public health and health sciences and contribute to the advancement of the field with their own research results.
The supervisors at our doctoral school are senior staff members of the University of Szeged and the HUN-REN Szeged Biological Research Center and HCEMM, which work in strategic educational cooperation with the university: PhD students joining our school can carry out their own research work by participating in the high-level work in these institutions and obtain the results necessary for compiling their dissertations. The training portfolio of the Doctoral School was developed primarily by our core members with extensive teaching and research experience. By attending and processing specialized course materials for each subprogram, students can acquire the basic knowledge necessary to pursue their own narrower field of study.
Our Doctoral School is proud that the teaching and research work carried out within its framework is based on 100 years of tradition in biomedical research at the University of Szeged, the high standard of which is demonstrated by our two Nobel Prize-winning scientists, Albert Szent-Györgyi and Katalin Karikó, as well as numerous other scientists who have achieved world-class results, such as Ilona Banga and Miklós Jancsó. In educating the next generation of researchers and guiding their research work, the instructors and supervisors of our Doctoral School follow the example of these renowned predecessors: by passing on our knowledge and experience, we contribute to the scientific achievements of the University of Szeged and Hungary by training professionals in the fields of medical biology, public health, and health sciences.
