With the relaunch of the Department of Health Economics in 2014, it was possible to organize along the uniform professional principles all teaching and research activities within the subject in the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School.

Our mission is to create an up-to-date and wide range of health economics and health management courses which organically complements medical knowledge.

Our educational and training palette include courses related to Healthcare management as well as the business processes of the healthcare industry. The subjects related to healthcare management are taught at four faculties of SZTE dealing with health sciences (Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Studies) and also at Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and Juhász Gyula Faculty of Education.

The main objectives of our research activities are the current economic and social issues of healthcare, significantly expanding the previous approach of health economics research.

The learned profession and experience of our colleagues make it possible to carry out complex interdisciplinary projects, in which medical, economic, psychological and business knowledge are combined.

Our topics mainly focus on the analysis of the effects of health-behavior on lifestyle and therapy and on the examination of the consequences of patient satisfaction.
