Foundation Year for Health Science Programmes


To apply for this full-time English language programme at the University of Szeged please read the Entry requirements carefully in order to find out whether you are qualified to apply and follow the step by step application guide below.


Step 1: Complete the online registration


Applications are to be submitted through the online Application System, Dream Apply at apply.u-szeged.hu


First, select Foundation Year for Health Science Programmes, then click on Apply Now! and Become an applicant by creating your applicant account. Please keep in mind that you are only allowed to register one account in the application system. After completing your registration online an automatic reply will be sent to your e-mail address to confirm your online registration.


Should you already have a Dream Apply account, log in, choose your preferred programme and click on "Yes, clone my previous application (recommended)". Please check your data, make necessary changes and provide additional information if required by the system.


Also, there are refrence codes you have to indicate by clicking on your name (upper right corner) and choose "Have a refence code?"


1. In case you are applying through a local represelative, please indicate the agent reference code. List of codes available at http://www.med.u-szeged.hu/fs/application-admission/representatives


Please note that only those representatives are eligible to represent the University of Szeged, guide you throughout the application process and provide you with relevant information, whom you may find listed on the official local representatives list.


2. Should you not have a representative please use "No Representative" as your reference code.

Step 2: Collect the required application documents


IMPORTANT NOTICE: Documents are only accepted as attested copies in English language or as certificates with an authorized English translation.


1. Passport photo

You are required to upload a formal photograph of yourself in the DreamApply. Please note that you can only upload JPEG files that do not exceed 2MiB.


2. Certified copy of your High School Diploma from an accredited high school and Transcripts listing all the subjects you have taken and the grades you have achieved.

You are also eligible to submit your application if you are in your final year but have not received your School Leaving Certificate or Diploma yet. In this case, you must present proof that you are attending high school.


3. Proof of English Language proficiency

TOEFL iBT: overall score of 51

TOEIC: overall score of 490

IELTS: overall score of 4.5 (with at least 4.5 in each of the four components)


4. Photocopy of your valid Passport (non-EU citizen) or Identification Card (EU citizen)

Please upload a scanned copy of your valid travel document.


5. Curriculum Vitae

Please make sure, that your CV includes your photo, personal contact details and an accurate report on your educational background, qualifications to the programme you are applying to. You might also indicate your previous jobs related to field you wish to study about. No mandatory format is given, however as a guide you may create your CV online here.


6. General Medical Certificate

This document needs to be filled out by your General Practitioner. Official form is available here.

Please note that the certificate can not be older than one year at the time of application.


7. Birth Certificate

You must provide a photocopy of your Birth Certificate or any official document indicating your full name, date and place of birth, furthermore your mother's first and previous family name (maiden name) the latest after acceptance.


8. Motivation Letter

Content of this letter must be typed in to the Motivation tab in your own DreamApply account. (The length of this letter should be between 800 and 4000 characters).


9. Reference Letter

You may ask your current or former teachers, employers to write a reference letter for you and you can upload the scanned copy of your reference letter in the Documents tab, or you can ask for automated references from referees through the Dream Apply System.


10. Statement of Representation
In case you have a local representative helping you through the application process, you are required to complete the statement. Official form is available here.

Please download the form, fill in, sign, have it signed by your local representative and 2 witnesses.

Should you not have a representative please tick the answer "I do NOT have a representative".


11. Proof of Payment: 200 EUR Application fee (non-refundable)

Online (bank card) payment can be made through Simple Pay (available within the Dream Apply Application System)


In case you cannot conduct your payment online (through Dream Apply) bank account information for wire transfer is available here.

Please note that commission charges have to be paid by the applicant.



Proceed to Step 3.


Step 3: Upload the required documents


Please carefully study the requirements in the Checklist in your Dream Apply, scan original documents in PDF or JPG format and upload them at the relevant task.


Proceed to Step 4.


Step 4: Admission decisions


Admissions decisions are made by the Academic Boards of the Faculties. If you get admitted to our Foundation Year Programme you will receive a Letter of Admission through the Dream Apply, our online application system. On request, the hard copy of this document can be mailed to your registered mailing address.


The hard copies of the uploaded documents have to be mailed to the Faculty concerned only following acceptance.

The Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School reserves the right to withdraw the official decision regarding admission if the hard copies of the documents do not match the ones uploaded upon application.
